Seatasea's  "Discover Paddling and Boat Demos!"  (It's fun, free and informative and did we mention... fun!)

If you have every wanted to give paddling...a, uh, "paddle" then this is for you. Whereas other stores that sell paddling gear have a special "demo" once in the spring, at Seatsea we demo our boats throughout the spring and summer most every other Monday night from 4:30pm - 7pm.  Seatasea offers a FREE Discover Kayaking Demo at Robins Lake in Cedar Rapids,  Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area (Palo, Iowa) at the Windsurfing/Paddling Beach or at Lake McBride in Solon, Iowa. 

This is pretty casual too!  There are no gimmicks, no hard sells, no timeshare purchases, you just grab a boat and give it a paddle.  Then try another and another.  That's it.  What a great way to check out a really great sport...and to find out what different types of boats you like.  NO reservation or confirmation is required.  Just show up! One of Seatasea's Kayaking Staff will be around to give you a few tips and answer any questions you may have and we provide everything you need including PFD's.   (That means personal floatation device for you land lubbers also known as a life jacket!)

Featuring boats from Hobie Kayak, Old Town Canoe, Necky Kayaks , Ocean Kayak and  Wilderness Systems .  Paddles from Bending Branches and Werner and PFD's from Stohlquist Waterwear

Dates and confirmed times are listed on our calendar.  There is no reservations necessary.   Just show up.  We would recommend on planning on getting a little wet.  Because, quite frankly, if you don't get wet, it really can't be any fun.  So some comfortable dress is a good idea and maybe an old pair of sneakers or water shoes would be would be good too.  

Already a Paddler..but want to try out a few different boats?  This would be the time for you also.  Seatasea has a fleet of over 15 different types of Recreational Touring, Touring and Family fun boats..both sit-ins and sit-on-tops for you to give a paddle.

Cancellations:  Our paddling demos "will happen" unless weather conditions are not good.  This includes rain or high winds or too high of water.  If these conditions exist (on the day of the event!) , please call our retail store at 319-365-6066 for confirmation of a cancellation.

Robins Lake, Cedar Rapids is located in NW Cedar Rapids on the corner of Edgewood Road and Ellis Blvd

Pleasant Creek State Rec Area, Palo, IA is located a couple miles north of the town of Palo, Iowa.  We conduct the Discover Paddling Demo's at the Windsurfing & Paddling beach.  When you enter the park you will come to a "T" in the road at the lake.  Take a left towards the main boat ramp.  Take your first right that you can into a small culdesac.  If you go to the main boat ramp you have gone too far.

Lake McBride - is located north of NE of Liberty, IA and west of Solon, IA off of Mehaffey Bridge Road.  Our paddling demo will be held at the sailboat storage area located on the NW corner of the Causeway.  Cross the Causewayand lake a left.  Just look for the signs.
