SCUBA DIVING

Scuba diving is an underwater sport where the diver uses scuba diving equipment including a mask to improve the underwater vision, exposure protection, fins attached to the feet, snorkel, equipment to control buoyancy, and mask to breathe underwater. The divers carry their own source of breathing gas, which is usually compressed air. The sport itself can be done recreationally or professionally, but it is important to be careful because the sport entails some risks, like decompression sickness, air embolism or drowning. Recreational diving is done purely for enjoyment and has a number of disciplines, such as cave diving, wreck diving, ice diving, and deep diving, and underwater tourism is mostly done on scuba.

Scuba diving is not so hard to learn; while you glide around, you re-engaged in three basic skills: floating, kicking and breathing. Maximum depths allowed range from 30 meters to more than 50 meters, depending on the breathing gas. There are plenty of psychical and mental benefits you can get while scuba diving, such as improving your blood circulation, concentration capacity, reducing your blood pressure, revealing stress and increasing your confidence and self-esteem. You can see the magic under the water and be more respectful and bonded with nature, but also see some new places and get some unique experiences. Some of the best scuba diving locations are Belize, Thailand, Sipadan, The Gills in Indonesia, Hawaii, The Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Boracay, Galapagos, Palau, Malapascua.

KAYAKING

Kayaking is a water sport that involves using a double-bladed oar to paddle a small boat called a kayak. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. In kayaking, the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation.

There are many types of kayaks – sit-on-top kayaks, recreational kayaks, inflatable kayaks, fishing kayaks, whitewater kayaks, tandem kayaks, and touring kayaks, and most of them can only accommodate one person, but some designs can hold two or three people and even pets. Kayaks are equipped with one or more buoyancy aid, a helmet, life jacket, waterproof bag, diving knife, water shoes, headlamp, wet-suit, spray top, spray-skirt and a whistle for signaling for help. You can additionally carry on fishing equipment or cheap drone if you are looking for any other activity besides paddling. It is a great activity because it includes some other outdoor activities such as fishing, diving, whitewater kayaking.

It also has some great health benefits for which your body will be forever thankful, so whether you want to lose some weight, tone your body and impact your upper body, reduce stress, increase your cardiovascular health, get some Vitamin D, improve your mood and your focus, and enjoy while exploring a whole new world, kayaking is the sport for you. It is great for rivers, streams, oceans, lakes and the journey itself can be a tranquil outing or a rafting adventure, the choice is yours! Some of the best destinations for kayaking are the Dalmatian Coast, Croatia, Amazon River, Galapagos Islands, Sea of Cortez, Baja California, Mexico, and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.

SNORKELING

Snorkeling is a sport that is becoming more and more popular, especially at tropical resort locations, and it is basically the practice of swimming and diving with a mask, but we are not talking about that classic diving mask with a special snorkel, but an underwater mask that brings a whole new experience and concept. The main purpose is observing underwater life in a natural setting. The equipment includes the snorkel, diving mask or swimming goggles, swim-fins, wet-suit, diving skins, sunscreen creams and lotions, weight-belt, snorkeling vest. It is one of the easiest seaside sports because it requires no special training and it also includes other great activities such as spearfishing, scuba diving, breath-hold diving, underwater hockey, underwater rugby, fin-swimming, bog-snorkeling.

Snorkelers are most likely to be found in locations where there are minimal waves, warm water, and something particularly interesting to see near the surface, and the most popular destinations for snorkeling are Korcula Island in Croatia, Great Barrier Reef, Australia, Komodo National Park, Indonesia, Maui, Hawaii, Devil’s Crown, Galápagos…. There are plenty of beautiful underwater locations you can see and explore while snorkeling, without having to leave the surface of the water. It is also a great way of staying healthy and improving your breathing, losing some weight (snorkeling is burning 300 calories in one hour), your overall strength and endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular system, building greater lung capacity, relieving stress, overcoming fear of diving, and making you feel more connected with nature.

TRIATHLON

Triathlon is an athletic competition that contains three different disciplines. Most often, triathlon refers to sports in the disciplines of swimming, cycling and running. The competitor must cross the pre-set sections during the race by swimming, cycling, or running according to a predetermined schedule.

There are three types of triathlon: standard -which consists of swimming, biking, and running sections, cross-country triathlon- which consists of swimming sections, mountain biking and trail running, and winter triathlon, which consists of snowshoeing or regular running, speed skating or mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Triathlons are timed in five sequential sections. It is a challenging sport, lately covered in sports channels, and it is really impressive to watch endurance and stamina of competitors. It is quite challenging to get everything on tape because you need a TV crew in the water, air, and land. Luckily drones with selfie cameras are a major help for that matter.

It makes it a great sport with a lot of health benefits for our body, because the great combination of swimming, cycling and running are helping to low our blood pressure, prevent diabetes and obesity, cardiovascular problems; triathletes have larger hearts and a heart rate that is 17% below the average heart rate. One of the greatest triathletes of all the time is Mark Allen, who was the ITU World Championship winner, in 1989, 10 x Nice Triathlon winner, and Powerman Zofingen winner, in 1993.
